You know what really sucks? For the next three weeks I’m going to be totally confused about what day it is along with messing up the year because I have so many days off of work. Oh, the troubles I have! heh.

I put my MP3 player on and went to town on the house yesterday. People, I dusted. With furniture polish and everything. I scrubbed toilets. The whole nine yards. And do you know what happened to me? Rick came home and I asked him to start a fire in the fireplace. Motherfucker filled the entire clean house up with smoke! He said it was too cold in the fireplace so the smoke wouldn’t go up the chimney. I say he’s the lamest ass man on the planet.

I will never clean again.

Did you notice how I said MP3 player up there and not Nano? This is all Apple’s fault. I decided to listen to some old school Keith and the Girl because I’m all caught up, but iTunes wouldn’t let me get the shows that I wanted. It wouldn’t even let me download them and put them on my Nano. This is why I sorta kinda hate iPods. Anyway, I ended up having to pull out my old Sansa Fuse and drop them on there. Thank Christ for Keith and the Girl (and Patrice). Without them I wouldn’t get a damn thing done.

The highlight of my day was turning my monitor to the vertical position so I can read blogs, journals, etc., and view pictures without having to tax myself by scrolling down. Yes, I am that lame.

Wait, that wasn’t the only highlight of my day!

Rick picked up our honeybaked ham. And I got my hat from SoftnShiny! I LOVE IT!

Today is all about preparation. Our tradition is to do a sit-down meal for Christmas Eve and pretty much just heat up leftovers as we go for Christmas Day. With the ham I have macaroni & cheese, party potatoes, baked beans, deviled eggs, etc. I don’t think I’m going to be making the baked beans since my mom and I are the only ones that eat them. And I’m still up in the air about the deviled eggs also. I’ve really gotten pretty laid back about not cooking so much food. I used to make lasagna, too and it was ridiculous how much food we wasted. So today I’ll be baking some pies (out of the freezer, fuck that homemade mess), getting the food ready, and I have to go to the store in the late afternoon to pick up the buns I ordered (one year I decided to make my own and that was a DISASTER).

Alex is coming over and spending the night. I’m placing bets that he will be, once again, the first one up tomorrow morning. He’s just like me when it comes to the excitement of Christmas. I never grew out of it and I hope he never does either. I’ll get my monkey balls ready for in the morning (also known as monkey bread). I saw where Pioneer Woman took the idea and made making them 10 times harder and more complicated. That cracked my shit up. I use Pillsbury refrigerated biscuits in a can, cut them up, throw them in a bowl of cinnamon and sugar and them toss them in a greased bundt pan. Then in the morning I boil the “syrup” ingredients and we open gifts while they bake. It’s a tradition that Rick brought along with him 10 years ago and we’ve never missed it yet. I just hope the kids continue to do it when they have families of their own and I hope they do the half Christmas card tag thing too.

Well, enough of this crap I need to get busy.

Have a great holiday!
