One perfectly good excuse for why I haven’t been writing lately has been the fact that I managed to get myself a nasty version of Trojan Malware on my desktop computer last weekend. Rick fixed it, but in the process I lost my ability to upload and download various things (pictures, podcasts, etc.). I didn’t realize it until after Rick left for Mexico (business trip). Oh, nobody knows had pissed off I was about this because I couldn’t figure out how to fix things myself and in my crazy attempt to make things right I managed to turn off the malware protection that he had installed. Which led to me getting another trojan malware and OH, HOLY HELL I really hate PC’s and who do I have to blow around here to get an iMac?

The one good thing about this stupid computer issue is that it forced me to spend more time getting to know my Macbook (aka: Uppity Lulu – what, you don’t name your computers?). I seldom use it because it’s a laptop and I tend to only use laptops for surfing when I’m on road-trips. I had already planned (before this whole malware incident) to get a laptop desk for ease of use. Rick rambled on about how he could make me one and that’s when I promptly got online and ordered one from Amazon. Rick talking about doing something in this house means that it will never happen. Trust me, he has a history. Yeah, I’m iffy on the whole no buying anything new resolution. But hey, I haven’t been near as bad as I could be!

I ended up buying this one because it was the lowest price for what I wanted.

Fortunately, it was delivered on Wednesday.

On Friday there were reports of a big snow storm coming our way. Rick just made it in from Mexico (he landed a little after 5 pm) before they started seriously canceling flights. It took him over three hours to get home from the airport and he was in a bad mood when he arrived. Apparently the taxi driver had some issues with driving in the snow (and I have no idea how it happened, but Rick ended up driving the damn taxi after a while). He was also furious with our bank (not to be confused with my bank) because they decide to put some type of hold on his debit card. This is the second time it happened and he’s fed up. The last time it happened he was in Germany. They told him it was some type of “protection” from someone using his card fraudulently (because it was in Germany it set off alarms). He thought he had the situation worked out with the bank, but apparently he was wrong. Mexico set off alarms and they “protected” his card again. To say he was pissed is an understatement.

So we woke up to this mess…

The red dot is the bottom of our driveway – this isn’t including the driveway that is behind me since I stood in the middle of it to take the picture. The official accumulation is 21.1 inches of snow. That’s going to take a whole lot of shoveling to get us to work tomorrow. I started looking online to see if we could find someone who plowed driveways. Bullhead has decided that he’s going to hand shovel this mess. He’s been in a mood since he got back from Mexico and I’m not willing to deal with it so I’m letting him do his thing. He’s out there shoveling with Trey right now and I’m heading out there in a few minutes to make sure my Jeep gets cleaned off.

It’s going to be a quiet week here at Dysfunction Junction. Sigh.

I’m outta here.
