I decided to do Betsy’s FOAM (food, outside, abstract and myself) project in the hopes that I will a) take more pictures and b) keep up with journal entries. I think everybody with a camera should give Betsy’s project a shot and start posting them.

Here’s my FOAM for the day…

FOAM-1

You can probably imagine how delighted I am that I have a photo of myself on there in which I am having one helluva horrible bad hair day. Oh, well. I have a head cold and could give two shits about what my hair looked like when I was going out in the damn rain today. And yes, I’m well aware that I suck at the whole abstract thing. I’ll work on that part tomorrow.

Why was I going out in the rain? Because the RickMonster decided that I should totally get into beading my own jewelry (since I’m so freaking particular) and we needed supplies. And yes, I said that Rick decided this because I mentioned on a whim that it would be cool to be able to make your own jewelry. I think he thinks that I need a hobby. One that doesn’t involve sewing because sewing makes me angsty. Poor Rick. He has no idea that I’m absolutely positive that any “hobby” I get into is going to make me angsty…that’s just how I am. Meanwhile, he’s all about this because it involves tools that he’s knowledgeable about and…wires. Rick can do anything with wires so he figures it’s something he can help me with. Bwahaha.

Well, Waldo certainly thinks it is do-able. We’ll have to see.

I’m outta here.

ooh beads. cats love beads! Make sure you have a beading board to lay out necklaces and bracelets, etc. artbeads.com has great tutorials plus v. reasonable supplies.

I used to do beads before having a 6monthold who likes to sit in my lap :-)

That’s a hobby I could go for. I have several broken necklaces w/cool beads-a few are vintage- and several pair of cool earrings I don’t wear that I think could be repurposed into necklace charms. I have like 6 or 7 pr. of enamel Laurel Busch earrings I can’t bear to part with-I think they’d make a great funky cat necklace w/beads. How good does your dexterity need to be? I’ve seen them doing it on JTV and it doesn’t look too hard. Can’t wait to see more of your creations.
